Lagarde of the ECB will kick off the forum on Monday.
Burnham, UK, will present a proposal to remove London from power.

During Monday's early European trade hours, the EUR/GBP cross falls to about 0.8625. The Euro (EUR) is weighed against the British Pound (GBP) by waning expectations of further rate hikes from the European Central Bank (ECB). Later on Monday, traders will keep a tight eye on the ECB's annual conference.

While the European Central Bank (ECB) increased its deposit rate by 25 basis points (bps) to 2.25% during its June policy meeting, President Christine Lagarde stated last week that the central bank does not need to react forcefully to the spillovers of the Middle East conflict, adding that the inflation shock facing the Eurozone is too significant to ignore but not yet significant enough to raise longer-term rates.

Amid declining oil prices, financial markets have reduced their wagers for additional rate increases. Traders have put in a 94.0% chance that rates would not change, according to ECB Watchtool. The event will be opened on Monday by Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank. Her comments may provide some hints about how central bank policies are changing.

However, the UK's political upheaval combined with worsening internal economic data might weaken the GBP and support the cross. According to the Guardian, the former mayor of Greater Manchester will present his plans for the UK on Monday.

Keir Starmer, the head of the ruling Labour Party, stated last week that he will resign due to political pressure. If no other candidate shows up, Burnham might be sworn in as prime minister as early as July 17.
